About Us
Family Service Association of Howard County, Inc. (FSA), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering families through its various programs, will be hosting BABYfest. This Mommy 2 Be and Baby Fair was birthed from an idea that Judy Dennis, FSA Director, had envisioned for a fundraising event. The vision seemed to dovetail with our mission to "empower families". FSA programs: Healthy Families, Prevent Child Abuse, Domestic Violence Shelter, Tobacco Coalition, Chores, Family Educators, and Credit Counseling all have aspects that deal with the health and welfare of the family, be it behavioral or physical. All of our services are either free to the client or charged on a sliding fee scale. To learn more about each of these vital programs, please click on the link to FSA.
Healthy Families, our program most closely resembling the goal of BABYfest, is a program that works with "families at risk" even before the birth of a child to teach the necessary skills for creating a warm, receptive home environment for baby's growth and nurturing. At BABYfest, we will be hosting educational seminars which will educate on some of these same vital topics, such as, breast feeding and nutrition. Vendors exhibiting some of the latest and greatest baby products, as well as those providing information and services for growing families, will also be present.
All of FSAs services are either free to the client or charged on a sliding fee scale. Fundraisers are essential to the ongoing operation of our organization and the proceeds will not only assist in promoting healthy families, but also provide for the less fortunate child who is in an abusive or neglectful environment.
